Daily Nugget #80
The Veil…
once
there lived a woman
of
great power
and
great love.
her home
was surrounded by fields of beauty
a meandering stream
and
a few BIG trees
that danced in the gentle breeze.
this woman
gave birth to a boy
not quite a decade before.
the boy spent his hours
wandering the fields
and
lounging in the great trees.
on a day
just like today
he saw a door
in the air
just above the herb garden.
this door was never there before.
he was sure of that.
today tho
there it was.
glistening
almost transparent.
it even appeared to pulse gently.
he stepped closer.
the sound coming from within
or rather
on the other side
calmed him.
he paused
wondering how close to get
wondering what would happen if he went thru
somehow understanding
that perhaps
he may not return.
he looked back and saw his mother
thru the window.
she knew this day would come.
he felt her love
he took a step closer to the door.
he felt pulled from both directions
and
within
he felt only peace.
it was HIS choice
walk thru?
stay?
he reached for the door knob
and
took his first step across the threshold
thru the veil.
his brother approached
with that quirky smile.
his brother that died at birth
but grew beside him in the spirit world.
his mother saw him sometimes.
she would catch her breath
and
close her eyes.
his brother approached.
they embraced.
this time it felt so real.
they shared a long moment in silence.
then the boy knew
it was not yet HIS time.
he looked around
and
drank in thru all of his senses
as his mother had taught him.
he looked deeply into his brothers knowing eyes
and
stepped back across the threshold
thru the door
and
into the herb garden
alive and abundant
in his own yard.
he did not look back.
he ran to the house
and
embraced his mother
full of love
full of power
and
together
they lit candles
and
talked quietly
remembering
honoring
loving.
