a penny for your thoughts?

 

what are YOU thinking?

how about now?

and now?

 

are you so deep in your distractions

that you miss the turn?

or

even miss the whole day?

or

many days in row

only to re-appear somewhere else on your timeline.

‘hey, how’d i get here?’

 

thoughts.

they can be consuming

controlling

overwhelming

present moment wrecking

stomach hurting

wrinkle causing

among other things…

 

what are these thoughts

and

where did they come from?

and

why the hell are they dominating my experience?!

 

do you ever experience this?

or

moments like this?

would you like some tools to tame the thought monster?

the ultimate control freak of the universe!

 

deep breath.

 

first

you must realize that you are lost in thought

consumed

or

bullied by them.

then

you can take back your mind.

 

a few methods that work.

choose what most resonates.

 

1. start paying attention.

are you here? or are you in your thoughts?

if you are caught in their web

and

you feel a downward spiral

start reaching for a thought that feels better than the one you are thinking.

for instance:

switch ‘how will THAT ever be possible?!’

to

‘anything is possible.’

or

‘oh, i don’t deserve that. i’m not worthy.’

to

‘of course i deserve everything my heart desires!’

 

2. grab that pesky thought

and

compost it.

yep. add it to the pile of shit that you discard at your feet

that turns to compost and nourishes you and your life.

 

3. notice where your thoughts are coming from?

are you pulling away from this moment?

are you dipping in to the past?

‘oh, why did i do that

or

choose that

or

stay with that person?!’

 

or

are you dipping in to the future?

‘that will never work out.

or

i’m afraid of what might happen.

or

what if?’

hold the phone!

 

oh the freaking what ifs and should’ve’s

(wow i’ve never used a double (‘) before!).

when you start paying attention to where your thoughts are coming from

then

you can pay attention to if they are based in Fear or Love & Trust.

 

4. when you have a thought

notice if it comes from a place of fear?

or

a place of trust and love.

if it is based in fear

compost it and move on.

 

move on, baby!

cause damn

you are WAY to powerful

and

have WAY too much potential

to be waisting any more time dwelling in Fear.
